Ingredients
1 beaten egg
1 cup of soft bread crumbs (about 1 1/2 slices)
1/2 cup bottled spag. sauce or pasta sauce
1-2 cloves of garlic - minced
1/2 tsp dried rosemary, crushed
1 lb lean ground beef
8 ounces bulk Italian or Pork sausages
6 sticks of provolone cheese (like the size of a thing of string cheese)
1/2 cup bottled spag. sauce or pasta sauce
6 tbsp shredded provolone cheese
1) In a large bowl combine egg, bread crumbs, 1/2 cup spag. sauce, garlic and rosemary. Add ground beef and sausage - mix well
2) Divide the meat mixture in to 6 equal portions - shape each in to a loaf. Press a stick of cheese lengthwise in the middle of each loaf and mold the meat around the cheese - place 2 meat loaves in an 8x8x2in baking pan.
3) Bake, uncovered, in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Drain fat and spoon remaining spag. sauce over loaves. Also top with shredded cheese and continue baking, uncovered, for 5 minutes more. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
*This recipe is for 2 personal meat loaves. Freeze the remaining 4 loaves for up to 3 months.
