Today when baking brownies (to take home with us this weekend) I noticed that Matt had unloaded the dishwasher! Of course, no kind act goes unnoticed so I sent him a text thanking him and telling him how much I appreciated it.
Then the comical part set in. Every cabinet I opened, there was something there that shouldn't be. And when looking for cooking utensils in the drawer that they belong, they weren't there to be found. In Matt's defense, I was asleep when he unloaded the dishes so I am thankful that he didn't wake me to ask where they went...even though it made my afternoon in the kitchen somewhat like a game of hide and go seek.
The tongs don't fit in any drawer except one. I guess Matt got frustrated and instead of finding that drawer (where they have been for 4 months) they got left on the counter. I promptly put them away and as I was mixing the brownie batter, I heard a loud clunk and got immediately sick in my stomach because I realized what had just happened. The tongs came un-locked.
Here are the ones that we have...
When you close them and pull on the loop at the top, they lock in the closed position. In the drawer they became unlocked and opened. The drawer was stuck and I was sure we were going to have to unscrew and take apart the whole thing.
Matt came home for lunch and I put him to work on that drawer...
It was hilarious...he fought with that thing and I grabbed my phone to take a picture, right as he finally got it open!
