Travel Monday

Memories...

My Dad has been in sales since before I was thought of.  Growing up it was perfectly normal for him to be gone a few nights a week, and once a year he would be gone for a sales conference.

You know what that meant??

My sisters and I would FIGHT for who got to sleep in my parent's room.

Mom would offer to pick up Taco Bell for dinner (a big treat, my Dad doesn't like Taco Bell so we would only get it when he was gone.)

Nightly calls from my Dad and he would tell us all about the fun things he did/saw and yummy meals he had.

The best part?  Dad would ALWAYS bring something home for us.  Nothing huge, I'm talking like the airplane peanuts...and looking back, my Dad has a peanut allergy so he couldn't eat them even if he wanted to.  Oh the small things that made us happy!!!

Now that I'm a wife of someone in sales, I've noticed that this week long convention has taken on a whole new meaning.

It means sleeping in a bed alone and living in an apartment alone.

Velveeta shells and cheese for dinner....

and listening to all of the fun things Matt gets to do.  He's worked so incredibly hard this last year, and I know this week is tough on him during the days (meetings and stuff) but he gets to let loose at night and eat/drink on the company's dime.

This week to keep me busy while Matt is away, I'm planning on breaking out the fall decorations and turning this apartment from Lemonade to Pumpkin Pies (the yankee candles I'm switching out this week)!
